Morehouse Horsey Cajun Shrimp Toast
Ingredients
Garlic Bread:
- 1 French baguette, sliced 1-1.5 inches thick
- 3 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Shrimp Mixture:
- 8 ounces medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp Morehouse Prepared Horseradish
- ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan, divided
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
½ tsp smoked paprika
Instructions
- Make the Garlic Bread
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Cook the Shrimp
- Dice shrimp into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add garlic paste and continue cooking for 30-60 seconds, stirring until shrimp are opaque and no longer translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Make the Horseradish Cream
- In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, Morehouse Prepared Horseradish, most of the mozzarella and Parmesan (reserve some for topping), and fresh parsley.
- Fold in the cooked shrimp and stir until combined.
- Assemble & Bake
- Spoon the shrimp mixture onto each slice of garlic bread and place back on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle it with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Lightly dust with smoked paprika.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve
- Garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
