Morehouse Horsey Cajun Shrimp Toast

Ingredients

Garlic Bread:

  • 1 French baguette, sliced 1-1.5 inches thick
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Shrimp Mixture:

  • 8 ounces medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • Kosher salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Morehouse Prepared Horseradish
  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan, divided
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

½ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Make the Garlic Bread
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  1. Cook the Shrimp
  • Dice shrimp into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add garlic paste and continue cooking for 30-60 seconds, stirring until shrimp are opaque and no longer translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
  1. Make the Horseradish Cream
  • In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, Morehouse Prepared Horseradish, most of the mozzarella and Parmesan (reserve some for topping), and fresh parsley.
  • Fold in the cooked shrimp and stir until combined.
  1. Assemble & Bake
  • Spoon the shrimp mixture onto each slice of garlic bread and place back on the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle it with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Lightly dust with smoked paprika.
  • Bake for 6-8 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  1. Serve
  • Garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
