Morehouse Homestyle Mac & Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1 lb macaroni noodles
- 2 ½ cups milk
- 1 ½ tablespoons Morehouse Mustard
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pinch of paprika
- ¼ cup cream cheese
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese ((or cheese of your choice)
Instructions:
- Cook Macaroni: Prepare macaroni noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Make Roux: Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook, stirring continuously, for 2-3 minutes, until the mixture is golden and smells nutty.
- Add Milk: Gradually whisk in milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Mix Cheese and Seasoning: Stir in 2 ½ cups cheddar, cream cheese, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika until smooth and creamy.
- Combine and Bake: Mix the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, then transfer to a baking dish. Top with the remaining ½ cup cheddar. Bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
